Are your staff still filling in those damn time sheets?
Of course you all know that manual time sheet entry are a thing of past? Modern technology means that computers can now record how long software has been used, accurately to the nearest second without any user intervention. After all, why should businesses spend thousands of dollars each year asking their staff to manually record something that can be done automatically in the background. In 10 years time, I can confidently predict that manual entry time sheet software will quite literally be gathering dust, as businesses realise that computers should be smart enough to capture staff time without any wasteful intervention. I’ve got to agree with Tom regarding manual timesheets for time and attendance tracking.
There is too high a degree of error when relying on spreadsheets, emails and other manual options because there are too many steps involved with such processes. The company I work with was long overdue when it came to finding a software that offers web based time tracking, is simple to use, and offers a high degree of accuracy.

We rolled out Pacific Timesheet last month, including integrating it with our payroll system (Lawson). By tying it into their paycheck, our employees are very careful and consistent about daily time entry! Now we use it for some of our projects, too. Our next phase is to roll it out to field service employees with iPhones and mobile phones, and make time tracking a core business process.
